Stained Glass Care

This stained glass art was handmade in my home in Tacoma, WA. The below care instructions should extend the life of your art for many years to come.

Handling
This stained glass was created using lead-based products. A protective finish has been applied to protect the metal. Wash hands after handling and keep out of reach of children and pets.

Hanging
Use ONLY permanent, screw-in hooks, such as cup hooks or garden planter hooks. Using metal chain rope is recommended. DO NOT use suction cups  or any non-permanent fixtures to hang your art.  They will eventually disconnect from the glass and your art will break.

Indoor Use Only Recommended - Outdoor elements and weather will quickly wear away the finish used to protect this piece. The metal used to join the pieces together will oxidize and/or rust when exposed to the outdoors for prolonged periods of time.

Cleaning
This piece was sealed with wax finishing compound to protect the metal from oxidation. To clean, polish lightly with a soft cloth (an old t-shirt would work just fine). DO NOT use cleaning products.  Simply polish lightly with a soft cloth (IE: old tshirt) to keep it fresh and dust-free.

If you notice oxidation on the metal, you can treat by applying Pledge, carnauba wax or a special stained glass finishing compound, Clarity. Apply the product, let it dry completely, then polish with a soft cloth and soft-bristled brush for corner.

Whether this is your first stained glass art or an addition to your current collection, I hope this piece brings you as much joy as it did me creating it.  Thank you for supporting my art!
